As far as the name of the game is concerned, when James conceptualised the game, he drew the grid on paper and showed that to his wife, Ness. On her first glance, she said, “It looked like a waffle.” So, the game got a name.
Before Unlimited Waffle, he created a few small games, but he couldn’t manage to finish them. But James never tried every idea he got, and ultimately, Waffle gave him a breakthrough.

James Robinson mentioned in the same podcast that he took inspiration from Wordle. One can feel that the colours used in Waffle Game Unlimited are similar to those used in Wordle.
He believed in keeping the design simple and minimalistic, yet charming the audience through the use of colors and typography. As far as game animation is concerned, he devoted considerable attention to it, keeping it simple yet engaging.

Apart from ads, many a time, James was contacted to sell the waffle game, but in the podcast, he said, “I turned down the life-changing money.” He did that because he was not at all concerned about money.
Currently, the game only serves distraction-free, minimal ads for revenue. In addition, there is a section within the game that solicits donations where players can voluntarily donate money to support the creator.
Future Plans of the Maker
James enjoys creating and playing games; therefore, he plans to create new puzzle games that are unique and fun to play. Moreover, he has collaborated with other game creators to bring games like Squaredle and Canuckle.
Currently, he is 39 and has a bigger team compared to what he had earlier. He wants to pursue his journey further and plans to retire as a game creator in the future.
